Have you ever tried to tell someone about the LORD on the phone, and suddenly your next-door neighbor fires up the lawn mower by your window? Have you ever tried to tell someone the Gospel message, and they keep having other calls come in? I don’t think it’s a coincidence….
What I am about to tell you is a true story… When I first began to really work for the LORD, I can remember a woman contacting me and wanting to talk about her salvation. So, I was on the phone talking about how she could find a personal relationship with CHRIST and as I am talking to her about the importance of seeking GOD–the craziest thing happened to me. I was in our family room at the time–and suddenly right where I was standing (of all the places in the house) –it was like from the ceiling above me water started pouring out onto my head and water was leaking out of the ceiling right on top of me EXACTLY WHERE I WAS STANDING. Well, I wasn’t really under anything that would be causing such a thing and there had never been a leak in that particular location before (and there never was again either). There wasn’t even any water running anywhere in the house at the time. But water kept pouring out and the plaster was even starting to come down. I did not want to stop talking to the woman, so I told her what was going on–and I got some towels and held them under the leaking ceiling as I continued to tell her about the Gospel. Finally, after our conversation was over, I had quite a mess on my hands–lots of wet plaster had come down from the spot I had been standing in. THERE WERE NO LEAKS TO REPAIR BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING ACTUALLY BROKEN TO LEAK. Strangely enough–there was never another episode of water coming down from that spot since that one time and all I can say was that it was obviously an attack of the enemy–who often does things when you are trying to reach out to other people–he is all about distraction. So we have got to resist and he will flee….
