The Overcomer
In scripture the LORD tells the seven churches in Revelation that they can break from all the problems of the seven churches and become overcomers. The seven churches struggled with the “traditions of men” and their lukewarm behavior. But several times the LORD said it was possible to overcome those obstacles if they would come out of the churches that were outside of the Will of GOD and surrender wholly to GOD. Some people wrongly believe that Philadelphia was the only church that makes it. NOT SO, GOD gives the chance to all those in the churches to overcome the things that they struggle with and to surrender all to HIM and to walk away from the worldly churches.
What is the opposite position of the “overcomer”—it is ecumenical. Ecumenical want you to believe many paths lead to GOD, when in fact only one path and it’s narrow and the Bible says few find it. Today’s new mega-church filled with the soon-to-be left behind lukewarm church are all about the one world religion that will be headed up by the False Prophet who promotes the Antichrist. Once the Antichrist gets his way, he destroys the one world religion too. But the One World Religion mantra is “coexist” in which all denominations, religions, cults come together and unite for world peace. But there is just one problem, they leave out the Prince of Peace, JESUS. So the overcomer is the one who has the Mind of CHRIST, who has had the renewing of their minds to be ONE with CHRIST, the bride of CHRIST, one flesh with GOD. JESUS IS the NARROW PATH, only by washing of HIS Word, which HE is the Word and surrendering fully to GOD can the mind be renewed to a singular view—the view of GOD.
WHO IS AN OVERCOMER:
-Whoever is born of GOD
-Whoever puts GOD above the world
-Whoever believes that JESUS is the SON of GOD
-Whoever believes that JESUS is GOD
-JESUS overcame the enemy and you must also resist the devil, be set apart from the world
-Whoever repents for his sins and forgives everyone
-Whoever taps into the Fountain of Living Waters and pursues intimacy with GOD
WHAT ARE THE REWARDS FOR AN OVERCOMER:
-Being born of GOD
-No longer prisoner of the world and the enemy
-You can eat of the TREE of Life WHO is CHRIST in Heaven, so that you have everlasting life in the presence of GOD
-You will not suffer the second death which is the lake of fire judgment
-You receive a new name from GOD that only you and HE know. You receive a new identity in CHRIST and the white stone in ancient Hebrew customs signifies “full pardon.” So you receive a full pardon for your sins through CHRIST
-You will have the privilege of wearing white in heaven signifying that you are found worthy to be there (not by your works, but by the Blood of CHRIST).
-Your name will not be blotted out of the Book of Life (and you will therefore be able to enter into GOD’s eternal rest)
-The LORD will confess your name to HIS FATHER and HIS angels when you face GOD so that you will not be found unacceptable before GOD.
-GOD will make you a pillar in the temple of GOD, (meaning you are founded in HIS presence and an important part of what GOD will do for eternity).
-You will never leave the presence of GOD
-You will share the identity of GOD by having HIS Name placed on you by HIM
-You will have the name of the city of GOD on you (signifying that you are a permanent member of the New Jerusalem where GOD lives with HIS people).
-Your identity will be in CHRIST because HE will write on you HIS New Name.
-JESUS will share HIS Throne with you (you will share in HIS Royalty).
-You will be part of the family of GOD
-As part of the family of GOD you will inherit everything that is GOD’s
1 John 5:4 (KJV): For whatsoever is born of GOD overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:5(KJV): Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that JESUS is the SON of GOD?
Revelation 2:7(KJV): He that hath an ear, let him hear what the SPIRIT saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of GOD.
Revelation 2:11(KJV): He that hath an ear, let him hear what the SPIRIT saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelation 2:17(KJV): He that hath an ear, let him hear what the SPIRIT saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Revelation 3:5(KJV): He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY FATHER, and before HIS angels.
Revelation 3:12(KJV): Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of MY GOD, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the Name of MY GOD, and the name of the city of MY GOD, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from MY GOD: and I will write upon him MY New Name.
Revelation 3:21(KJV): To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with ME in MY Throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with MY FATHER in HIS Throne.
Revelation 21:7: (KJV): He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his GOD, and he shall be MY son.
