THE MYSTERY OF THE FIERY SERPENT ON A POLE

I once had a personal revelation from the LORD over a scripture that troubled me for some time. In Numbers the Israelites in the wilderness spoke out against GOD and Moses and complaining about their condition and even complaining about the Heavenly manna GOD provided. So GOD sent on them fiery serpents killing many. Then after Moses prayed on their behalf and GOD told Moses make a fiery serpent on a pole and when the people look at the pole after they are bitten they will live. I knew that the serpent on the pole represented CHRIST on the cross but why did GOD use a serpent to represent CHRIST? Didn’t the serpent represent Satan? Then the LORD showed me 2 Cor. 5:21–JESUS became SIN WHO KNEW NO SIN–and what is the ultimate representation of “sin” except the key instigator, the father of lies…so JESUS literally became “Sin WHO knew no sin” and that is what the serpent on the pole means–when we look at the cross we can see our perfect “SIN substitute” and we can be saved–NO ONE ELSE COULD HAVE DELIVERED US–EXCEPT SINLESS CHRIST WHO TOOK OUR PUNISHMENT and delivers us from our “fiery serpents” that attack us–the enemy…

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV): For HE hath made HIM to be sin for us, WHO knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM.

Numbers 21:5-9 (KJV): 5 And the people spake against GOD, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6 And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
