A lot of people believe the Old Testament is of no use to them and they focus only on the New Testament. The truth is that the Old Testament supports the New Testament and the New Testament supports the Old Testament. The Old Testament foretells the New Testament that foretells the future and the New Testament confirms the Old Testament. The Bible from front to back describes the Person of GOD. The Bible explains the desires, demands, and terms of GOD as MAKER, CREATOR, GUIDE, LEADER, LAWMAKER, and RULER.
To understand ourselves we must first understand our CREATOR. That is why, out of all the books, the Bible is the most significant. There is no other way to understand our purpose for existing except to understand the Person who created us.
The Bible exists to help us understand what is authentic and what is counterfeit when it comes to what is of GOD and what is of HIS enemy. To really grasp that understanding you must be surrendered to the AUTHOR of the Bible to get the true interpretation of HIS writings. The interpretations of men apart from the HOLY SPIRIT will always lead us astray. If we turn to men for understanding who are apart from the influence of the HOLY SPIRIT, we will be under the influence of Satan who infiltrates men who are not led by the SPIRIT of GOD.
When it comes to reading and studying the Bible there can be no short cuts because it will lead to cuts and shortages in understanding. It is going to take time to grasp the meaning and so to find time you will have to make hard choices like forgoing distractions put there by the enemy like TV, movies, secular entertainment, secular books. GOD is not exaggerating when HE calls us to be set apart from the world.
Question everything in this world. The road is broad. How does that translate? The secular world is antichrist, so they believe they must “secularize everything for your protection,” explaining away GOD and HIS words. They have to rewrite history without GOD and create a future without GOD. The world wants us to make plans without GOD, and even how to take care of our minds and bodies without GOD. The world wants us to solve problems without GOD and to tell us how to interact with each other without GOD. It’s the Bible that keeps us grounded in our interactions with GOD and each other and how to solve problems the correct way. It’s the Bible with the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT who shows us where we came from and where we are going and that there is NO other direction to go in but the one that GOD has written.
