he LORD has placed it upon my heart to write up this information because I believe it is important to HIM:
I want to talk about the importance of thorns to the testimony of CHRIST throughout the Bible. We all know JESUS was given a crown of thorns to wear by Roman soldiers right up until HE breathed HIS last breath on the cross. Let’s look at the significance of even this detail of HIS story.
The entire Bible is about JESUS CHRIST from front to back and the reference of thorns throughout can show us the truth about this detail is interwoven in its pages. Starting with the call of GOD for Abraham to prove his love to GOD over that of his beloved child Isaac. He is told to go to Mount Moriah to make a sacrifice to GOD and testing Abraham right at the moment Isaac was to be the sacrifice, GOD provides a ram in the thicket.
Genesis 22:13: Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. Abraham took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering in place of his son.
Today, Bible readers believe that ram represents the future sacrifice for all mankind who was JESUS and the thicket represents the crown of thorns, because the thicket was very likely a bush with thorns catching the ram. Pointing to GOD as JEHOVAH JIREH a GOD who provides, eventually giving HIS only SON.
There is some detail on the crown of thorns JESUS wore in scripture: Matthew 27:29 says: The soldiers wove thorn-branches into a crown and put it on his head and put a stick in his right hand. Then they kneeled down in front of Him and mocked Him saying, “Hail to the King of the Jews.”
In our ministry’s in-depth study of the Song of Solomon: Love Story of CHRIST we find multiple references to JESUS written in even the love story of Solomon. In this deeply symbolic book of the Bible, probably one of the most profound in my opinion, we see the symbolism of myrrh used in the story. Myrrh is connected to JESUS to Solomon, who is a form and type symbolically of CHRIST, because we see the wise men giving Baby JESUS myrrh and we find JESUS being wrapped in a burial cloth with myrrh. But myrrh is significant in its connection to JESUS because it’s a plant with “thorns” driving us right back to the crown of thorns and the crucifixion. This brings me to a revelation of the crucifixion of JESUS related to the crown of thorns the LORD revealed to me. In an extraordinary experience that my son and I shared: first my son at 14 had a vision of CHRIST’s face while on the cross which revealed the utter devastation of what actually took place. Then later after researching this matter further and seeing the computer-generated 3D image of the victim of the Shroud of Turin, I too was given a vision of CHRIST and the person I saw was the one in the same person of the Shroud of Turin burial cloth. This prompted me to do more research, and I discovered that housed in a separate location from the Shroud was the face cloth believed to be the one in the same belonging to CHRIST. Amazingly it did belong to the victim of the Shroud. How do we know? We know because the cloth had tiny bloodstains from that were perfect match to the same bloodstains on the Shroud of Turin in absolute detail. There were multiple bloodstains that are most likely from the piercings of the thorns in the skull from the crown of thorns of the victim. And the Shroud was proven by forensic experts that it most definitely belonged to a crucifixion victim. But there would have been only one crucifixion victim who was given a “crown of thorns” and that detail belongs to JESUS!
Now regarding the thorns in the flesh of CHRIST: It would appear that the historical face cloth known as the Oviedo sudarium facecloth was pinned to the back of the dead man’s head, and that these spots of blood were from small sharp objects, which would logically be the thorns that caused this type of injury all over JESUS’ head. Cloth researcher Dr. Alan Whanger applied the Polarized Image Overlay Technique to the sudarium facecloth, comparing it to the image and bloodstains on the Shroud. The frontal stains on the sudarium show 70 (piercing stains) points of coincidence with the Shroud, and the rear side shows 50 (piercing stains). The only possible conclusion is that the Oviedo sudarium face cloth covered the same face as the Turin Shroud. Both the Sudarium and the Shroud have identical blood types.

I want to drive the point home in closing, on just how significant the crucifixion of JESUS was and how it is literally a center piece of the entire Bible. Let’s look at this detail: when Moses was in the desert with the Israelites after passing through the Red Sea and making it out of Egypt, GOD commanded Moses to prepare a tabernacle and provided detailed instructions on how to prepare this tent of worship for the priest to enter in. GOD gave instructions on the building construction of the tent which the Israelites carried around for forty years. One detail included the wood for the tent frame that was cut down and then covered in gold. That wood frame would have been made from the Acacia tree wood as well as poles and the altar. What is significant about the Acacia tree besides it’s a sturdy wood, was the tree had thorns that would have been challenging to work with but highly significant that even the Tabernacle of GOD was representing the thorns and the crucifixion of CHRIST so long ago.
