I want to talk about an amazing miracle that happened to my father. In his latter days he had become quite weak. My mother told me how they had come home from the store on an icy winter day and their front porch was solid ice. It was during a time of day that there would have been almost no one in the neighborhood, let alone someone walking by in front of their house. Suddenly my father’s feet went out from under him on the ice and he was about to go down, when literally out of nowhere a young man caught my father and set him back up on his feet on the ice. My father turned around to thank him and the young man was nowhere to be found, completely vanished. I thought about this scene and honestly even if a stranger had been strolling along at that time of day, there is no way someone could have anticipated my father falling at that moment, and made it to him just in time to catch him before he went down. It was a miracle because my mother probably could not have helped him either. Miracles still happen, all the time…
Isaiah 46:4: And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
