Every time I work in my yard and wrestle with thorn vines, I am reminded of what JESUS did on the cross for me. I am here to tell you that MOST portrayals of that event don’t get the job done. JESUS suffered immeasurably. The Roman soldiers didn’t just put the crown of thorns on HIS head they had first torn out his hair then put it on HIS head. THIS IS WHAT OUR CREATOR DID FOR US. I dread to think what people who reject HIM in this life will face from the FATHER WHO knew how HIS SON suffered.
The lukewarm church and Christian bookstores are not going to portray the true picture of CHRIST on the cross–you are not going to hear or see the reality of the condition of JESUS as HE truly was on the cross–brutally torn to pieces–unrecognizable as a human being. Why does the secular world and the lukewarm church want to hide this reality and replace it with a pristine picture of JESUS on a cross with barely a scratch? They want to downplay the event that actually took place–the truth about the horror and ultimately the trouble you will be in if you don’t acknowledge this great sacrifice….

Isaiah 50:6-7 (KJV): I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
Luke 22:64 (KJV): And when they had blindfolded HIM, they struck HIM on the face, and asked HIM, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote THEE?

Most pictures of CHRIST on the cross do not reflect what actually happened—if we saw the actual crucifixion of CHRIST it would be horrifying and impossible to view.
